Introduction to Marketplaces

A Marketplace is the ecosystem that issuers create in order to tokenize their assets, raise capital, and connect with their investors. A Marketplace is the environment in which an issuer and an investor interact and make financial transactions, as well as where secondary trading in tokenized assets occurs between investors. 

For single-company asset issuers, such as a startup looking to raise debt or equity capital, a single marketplace will be sufficient, as you can have multiple assets (tokens) and multiple offerings (rounds) within that Marketplace.

For broker-dealers, funds and other capital managers who are raising capital on behalf of multiple clients, you may prefer to use different Marketplaces, one for each client firm.

How to Create a Marketplace

To create your marketplace on the Polymath Capital Platform, follow the instructions below:

1. Login to your account.
2.  On the Marketplaces tab, click Create Marketplace
3. Assign a Name and Domain Name for your Marketplace. 
4. Select the Jurisdiction (country) that your Marketplace will be associated with. By default, this should be the jurisdiction where your company or fund is located. 
   Note: Your marketplace domain name will be used by investors to find your assets, offerings and view their portfolio. 
5. Enter the Contact Details (name, primary contact name, phone number and email) and Address for the organization that will be operating the Marketplace. 
6. Confirm that all details are correct, then click Submit when ready to create your Marketplace. 
7. All done! You will now see your newly created Marketplace on the Marketplaces tab.
