About Minting and Burning Tokens
Minting a token is the next step after creating an Asset on the Polymath Capital Platform. A Token is one unit representing ownership in the asset. As the issuer, you can create as many tokens as you would like by minting tokens. Tokens must be minted before you can sell them to investors using an Offering or distribute them via a Token Distribution.
Burning tokens is the process of removing tokens from circulation. You can only burn tokens that are currently sitting in your Asset's Treasury wallet and not currently assigned to an Offering or to an Issuer-Custodied Owner. You cannot burn tokens that are owned by any investor.
While minting and burning tokens have very few technical limitations, you should have a firm understanding of how these actions will affect your Asset's tokenomics, liquidity and investor expectations.
